The #NewMediaTechStudents enjoyed a guest lecture this evening by Lillian Singh, Director, NAACP. She provided an overview of the NAACP, discussed career path options as well as shared insight on how to leverage effective social media messaging.

WIFFM and New Media Technology

Why study new media technology? The ability to learn and effectively use new media tech tools offers users the opportunity to leverage creativity, writing and marketing skills. It also offers one very clear tangible item- career opportunities.

According to a recent Pew Research Study titled "The Growth of Digital Reporting", which examines the "decrease in traditional journalist jobs between 16,000 to 38,000 jobs between 2003 and 2012." Consequently, new and other organizations are enhancing their digital footprint to retain, maintain and attract new consumers of their information services, or their products and goods for sale.
